Who am I as a therapist?
As a therapist, my priority is establishing a safe, secure, and trusted relationship with my clients so that they have the space to be their authentic self to create the change they are seeking. I strongly believe that a relational connection is the foundation to creating long-term, therapeutic change. My approach includes utilizing validation and empathy, curiosity, and therapeutic challenging in a way that feels manageable, and helps me meet the client where they’re at. I want my clients to leave the office feeling empowered, hopeful, and having a new perspective of their perception of the world.
My speciality is working with adolescents, adults, and families. I love supporting these populations with life stressors, past (and/or current) trauma, and navigating relationship challenges. I have many years of experience working in all different environments, including a child and adolescent residential treatment program, providing family therapy in the comfort of people’s homes, working as a trauma therapist in an outpatient environment, to now being a director of outpatient services at a prominent agency in Philadelphia. These experiences have provided the foundation for my work by incorporating all the different parts of ourselves–complex family dynamics, early childhood experiences, past/present relationships–into a person’s present functioning that are an integral part of the healing process.
Always using a trauma-informed lens, the modalities I use with my clients are personalized to the individual, they are in the driver’s seat of their own path to change. In our work together we will navigate the road blocks you face to get you to a more empowered state of fulfillment.
Who am I as a person?
On a personal level, I’m an energized spirit with a unique sense of humor. My husband and I have a dog, Sienna, whom quite frankly, we’re obsessed with. I’m also a borderline unhealthy Eagles fan (but really anything Philly sports). I look forward to my coffee every morning, I cherish moments of rest and relaxation, but also enjoy trying new restaurants and eating yummy food! I value my family and friendships and trying new experiences and activities with them on weekends.
